RDS CALs – Remote Desktop Access Licenses for Windows Server

RDS CALs (Remote Desktop Services Client Access Licenses) are required to allow users or devices legitimate access to a Windows Server via Remote Desktop . They are required in addition to regular Windows Server CALs and cover only Remote Desktop access.

Compatibility:

RDS CALs 2025 are backward compatible and can also be used with Windows Server 2022, 2019, and 2016. This allows existing environments to be flexibly expanded without having to purchase new RDS licenses due to version differences.
